What Is Raw Living Food?

What Is Raw Living Food & The Raw Food Diet?

And why are raw living foods so deliciously healthy?

What are raw living foods? Well to get a better idea of this, let's first look at what you are probably more familiar with (the cooked food diet). When we cook healthy fresh food, we kill off most of the natural goodness that we have actually purchased the food for.

When cooked it will go limp with a soggy texture and will need other things adding to give it back some flavour. But what's more important for us, it will not only be lacking in nutrients but it will be lacking essential enzymes and its energizing life force. This will inevitably leave you feeling stuffed, lacking in energy and probably still hungry for the essential nutrients that your body needs. Consequently your brain will just keep asking for more!

Another way for you to get a better appreciation of cooked food is this. Let’s say, if you cook a seed or a bean and then you plant it and you lovingly watered it and cared for it. Would you expect it to grown into a healthy plant? No of course not, it’s dead. But an uncooked living seed would sprout into life with many hundreds of times more nutrients and living energy than its dead counterpart. And this is the life force and energy that we need to give us our vibrant health.

What makes eating raw food or "living food" so special, is that you are eating food in its natural raw energized state. Every bite will have a powerhouse of nutrition, life force and the essential for life - living enzymes. But much more than this, every mouth full will be full of mouth watering tastes and textures with an amazing array of flavours.

By default, raw foods are foods that are safe to eat raw. But essentially will be foods that have not been heated above 47 degrees Centigrade (118 degrees Fahrenheit). The obvious foods we can eat raw are fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and herbs. But in reality there is an array of delightfully flavoursome and edible raw foods the world over which are ideal for a raw living food diet.

What raw foods do we eat for it to be a raw living food diet?

When I mention to people that I eat a raw food diet, their first thought is that I must mean sushi. But then when I refer to eating raw pizza, well the expression on their face says it all. They of course imaging eating raw food to mean eating the same food that they eat, but without cooking it.

People also turn their nose up at the thought of eating salad. But then they are thinking of a salad as being lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber with maybe a bit of beetroot, a spring onion and a peace of cheese on top. Well all I can say is that they haven't tasted my multitude of amazing flavoursome and energizing salads.

What other ingredients can we use in a raw living food diet?

There are literally thousands of different foods today from around the world that we can eat in a natural raw "uncooked" meal. Some come in the form of our staples like fruit and vegetables, of which there are hundreds of different varieties. Then others come in lesser known food groups like "living" high energy sprouted seeds, beans and legumes.

Following is a list of some other nutritious food groups we can use in our diet.
